About David Bennell

Profile

I’m David Bennell, the founder of Ephor Software. Over more than two decades in tech, I’ve thrived at the intersection of deep engineering and creative innovation whether that’s architecting embedded IoT systems (from Raspberry Pi and ESP32 prototypes to a fully automated tropical marine aquarium) or spearheading AI-driven market-intelligence tools using knowledge graphs and RAG pipelines.

My career journey has taken me from software engineering roles at the Mulberry Company and several startups through leadership positions at Capita, where I built and mentored global teams, achieved ISO 27001 certification, and rolled out SaaS products one of which is used by all four of the Big 4 consulting firms. Most recently, I was at an AgTech startup called Varda, where I established DevOps practices, drove geospatial data-visualization features, and prototyped a carbon-farming registry.

Today at Ephor, I’m iterating on an agentic Product Management solution that transforms product documents, research, and feedback into dynamic knowledge graphs. These graphs semantically represent combined product knowledge, which we then merge with whole-of-market graphs to generate new product strategies, market positioning opportunities, and comprehensive Product Management artifacts such as PRDs for our agentic development tools.

I bring a unique blend of skills in embedded systems and IoT architecture, modern full-stack development (C#, Rust, React/Next.js), backend infrastructure (MongoDB, vector embeddings, knowledge graphs), as well as CI/CD, security compliance, geospatial visualization, and Agile/SAFe methodologies. Equally at home sketching UX flows, negotiating with stakeholders, or experimenting with game engines, interactive narratives, and music production, I’m driven by curiosity and a passion for crafting thoughtful, user-centric solutions. Let’s build something remarkable together.

Why Ephor

Seeing the shifting sands on the horizon, I believed AI would change everything. Strategically looking ahead in my own lane of Product Management, I foresaw a convergence of senior UI/UX, Product, Marketing, and Engineering expertise into a single AI-augmented role. By empowering the product visionary with the right tools, they can accomplish the work that once required three separate teams.

There are many tools for UX design and rapid development, and marketing and sales automation are advancing fast. However, business validation figuring out what to build next and why, backed by evidence still lags behind. That’s where Ephor comes in.

We build semantic knowledge graphs of a product’s WHAT, WHY, and HOW: target audiences, customer and user personas, pain points, competitor analysis, and user feedback. Then we link this product knowledge graph to the whole-of-market graph, creating a powerful RAG-enabled context window. AI agents can leverage this to refine the product vision, align development priorities, and generate precise acceptance criteria and specs for the latest AI-powered development tools.
